Merry Go Round ENT. - IOU

Challenge: To develop a private label brand that appeals to american youth and embodies the MGRE spirit.

The quintessential 1980s and 90's fashion store in the US malls. The place to shop. Hip, young, and funky clothes, reflecting current youth culture. IOU

was the private label and was a major part of the business.

Merry Go Round was founded by Leonard “Boogie” Weinglass a "streetwise Baltimore bad boy who grew up to be, by turns, hippie, founder of a successful retail chain, multimillionaire, jet-setting Florida playboy, unorthodox Aspen family man, and spectacular failure."

Boogies early life was portrayed by actor  Mickey Rourke in the 1982 classic American Barry Levinson film "Diner". Boogie was the brand...

MGRE, folded in 1996 with its ca.1,500 stores and 15,000 employees.

The design and fashion of MGRE was, in its time, a very strong coherent brand. Not only visually but also as an emotive brand and today 18 years later the MGRE community and family of employees still have contact and keep in touch via social media like Facebook (1000+ members), and occasional Happy hour in Baltimore.

Copenhagen UpClose

Challenge: to create a complete branding system centered on a system of videos for tourist promoting the center of Copenhagen.

In collaboration with Sine Finne Frandsen, we created a visual universe of images melting together in the urban environment of Copenhagen.

The theory behind the concept was experience economy, creating a virtual world through the video and recreating it using virtual augmentation through a handheld device.

The consumer is often activated and introduced to new experiences through digital media. This has resulted in many new communication opportunities. It has become easier to produce digital film and to distribute them via social media.
